43rd BCPFFA Biennial Convention 2025
It is with great pleasure, that on behalf of the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Association (BCPFFA), we update you on the 43rd BCPFFA Biennial Convention hosted in Vancouver BC.
Over 175 delegates from 56 IAFF affiliate locals assembled to discuss important issues on behalf of their members and to elect candidates to the executive board.

Re-elected to the board
Todd Schierling, President
Todd is a Local 1271 Surrey member who held the position of BCPFFA secretary-treasurer (2016-2023) and president 2023-2025 term.
“It is a true honour to be re-elected by acclamation to President of the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Association by our 56 IAFF local affiliates. to serve another term on a strong executive leadership board to steward, protect, and improve upon wherever possible. Brian Catinus, Secretary/Treasurer
Brian who served the 2023-2025 term as Secretary Treasurer was re-elected by acclamation for another term. Brian brings a strong leadership skill set to the board in areas of labour relations and government affairs.

Executive Board Member re-elected:
Vice Presidents: Adrian Sherriff (Vancouver), Andrew Zado (Island), Mike McMillan (Lower Mainland South), Saverio Lattanzio (Fraser Valley), Kris Krutop (Okanagan) and Lee DePellegrin (Kootenays).
Trustees Re-elected:

Stepping away from the executive board this convention was Steve Farina and Matt Crompton., and were celebrated for their impactful advocacy work to the province.






































At convention, several resolutions were adopted enhancing the governance of the association. In addition, numerous members were recognized as Honorary and Emeritus by resolution supported unanimously by the delegation for the outstanding and impactful work to their local, region and province.

ABOUT THE BCPFFA
The BCPFFA is a service provider for its affiliates offering training and education in areas of provincial legislation, occupational health and safety, WorkSafe advocacy, financial assistance, bargaining, labour law, and advocacy for best practices in both public safety and fire fighter safety.
The BCPFFA executive board is comprised of thirteen elected representatives; Two principal officers (President and Secretary-Treasurer), eight regional Vice Presidents and three Trustees. They represent 56 Locals of over 4700 professional men and women in fire fighting - suppression, training, fire prevention, dispatch, mechanical, emergency preparedness, and clerical support staff.
