TODD SCHIERLING, PRESIDENT

Biography

Todd was hired with Surrey Fire Service in 1996 and is a Captain in fire suppression. He previously served on the Surrey Local 1271 executive board from 2006 to 2016, serving as Trustee (2006 to 2008), Registrar (2008 to 2012), and Treasurer (2012 to 2016). During his tenure he served as an Executive Director of the Surrey Fire Fighters' Charitable Society.

Todd was acclaimed as President at the 2023 BCPFFA Convention. Previously, Todd was elected as Secretary-Treasurer of the BCPFFA at the 2016 Convention, and was acclaimed in 2018 and 2021 Conventions. Todd sits on two provincial boards, the BCPFFA Executive Board and BCPFF Burn Fund Board of Directors.

Todd serves as a Service Rep. for IAFF 6th District Vice President Mike Carter. In addition, Todd works with a strong Burn Fund leadership team who delivers mission programs to survivors of burns and trauma.

The recipient of service recognitions include his home Local 1271 Peer Awards (2020), Surrey Community Leadership Awards (2019) and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal (2013)

Todd enjoys family time, and when time permits he enjoys playing the occasional round of golf.
