TODD SCHIERLING, PRESIDENT

Biography

Todd began his career with the Surrey Fire Service in 1996 and is currently a Captain in Fire Suppression. He served on the Surrey Local 1271 executive board from 2006 to 2016, and as an Executive Director of the Surrey Fire Fighters' Charitable Society generatng $1 Million annually.

Todd was elected BCPFFA President by acclamation in 2023 and 2025, having previously served as Secretary-Treasurer from 2016 (acclaimed in 2018 and 2021).

He represents on the BCPFFA Executive Board (President/Chair), BCPFF Burn Fund Board (Chair/President appointee), Municipal Pension Plan Board of Trustees (Police/Fire appointee), BC Federation of Labour Executive Council (IAFF appointee), Field Service Rep., IAFF 6th District, and the BC First Responders' Mental Health Committee.

Todd's service recognitions include the King Charles III Coronation Medal (2022), Local 1271 Lorne West Silver Axe Award (2020), Surrey Leader: Community Leadership Award (2019), and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal (2013).

He enjoys family time and golf when time permits.
