saverio Lattanzio, Secretary Treasurer

Saverio Lattanzio serves as Secretary-Treasurer of the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Association (BCPFFA). Elected on May 2026 from IAFF Local 1271, he previously served as Vice-President for the Fraser Valley Region and now contributes to the governance and operations of the Association on behalf of affiliated locals across British Columbia. His current provincial role is reflected in recent BCPFFA election and governance records.

Saverio joined Surrey Fire Service in 2000 and currently serves as a Suppression Captain. Over the course of his career, he has built a strong record of service in both the fire service and union leadership, combining frontline experience with a sustained commitment to member representation and local governance.

Within IAFF Local 1271, Saverio has held key leadership roles for more than a decade. Since 2012, he has served as Registrar, and since 2018 he has served as President of the Local. His union work has also included committee service in several important areas, including pensions advocacy, peer support, peer fitness, and bargaining.

Saverio has also demonstrated a strong commitment to community and charitable work. During his tenure with Surrey Local 1271, he served with the Surrey Fire Fighters Charitable Society as both a Director and President, supporting charitable initiatives and strengthening the connection between the fire fighters and the broader community they serve.
