Biography

BRIAN CATINUS - SECRETARY-TREASURER

Brian, a dedicated firefighter with Saanich Fire Department and a long-time member of Local 967 Saanich, is a pivotal leader in British Columbia's labour movement.

He currently serves as BCPFFA Secretary-Treasurer, a role he was unanimously elected to in 2023 and 2025. Brian also holds appointed positions as Secretary-Treasurer on the BCPFF Burn Fund Board of Directors and as a 6th District Field Service Representative.

Previously, Brian was President of Local 967 and served on numerous BCPFFA committees including Finance, Grievance, and Resolutions. He now assists or leads contract negotiations for BC Local affiliates, leveraging his expertise in labour relations and government affairs to advance the IAFF/BCPFFA agenda.

Outside of his significant contributions to the labour movement, Brian enjoys spending time with family and coaching his daughters in sports.
